Overseas visitors have been somewhat a rarity over the last few years due to the worldwide pandemic but as travel restrictions are lifted, we hope to welcome new and old faces alike to the mint.
We were delighted to welcome our visitor from Pitcairn Island to the mint yesterday. The new Finance Division Manager, Simon Young, was in London to attend Joint Ministerial meetings for Overseas territories and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to come and meet our team and for a tour of the mint.
Simon met with our Managing Director, Elliot and various members of our Sales and Marketing team to learn more about we do and our plans for the future.
After the meeting, Simon was given a tour of the mint and got to experience first-hand, the process that goes into producing coins and even got to strike a coin himself!
Director of Production, Lee Parker, explained the different stages of the minting process and Simon got to see some of the actual coin dies that were used for the Pitcairn Islands Platinum Jubilee coin collection.
It was a great experience for all involved and we hope to see Simon again on his future visits to London.
