The Isle of Man’s Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer KCB DSO MBE is pictured being presented with a coin collection launched to commemorate His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation.
The presentation was made on behalf of the Treasury by Bill Henderson MLC, Department member with responsibility for currency.
The King Charles III Coronation Fifty Pence Collection comprises five 50 pence coins, each featuring lines of text from the first verse of the British National Anthem, along with each of the Heraldic Beasts.
The packaging is in regal blue and includes text detailing His Majesty the Lord of Mann’s close relationship with the Isle of Man on the inside cover.
The coin sets, created by Isle of Man Government currency and commemorative partners Tower Mint, are available to buy from the Tynwald Library, Manx National Heritage and other local retailers, and copies of each coin will be placed in general circulation.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan MHK will represent the Isle of Man alongside His Exellency at the King’s Coronation on Saturday 6th May.
